Handbook for a correct maintenance of the polyethylene boards for professional use

Polyethylene is a thermoplastic resin and it’s a petroleum product. It’s a very resistant material thanks to its chemical-physical characteristics.

The polyethylene resistance and the hardness are specified by the density number, an intensive quantity used to describe the degree of the concentration of countable object. Saying that, the polyethylene could be LDPE (density number between 0,91 g/cm e 0,925 g/cm) – MDPE (0,926 g/cm e 0,94 g/cm) and HDPE (0,94 g/cm e 0,965 g/cm).

The regulations for the production of cutting boards required the use of the high density, HDPE.
